Watseka's
volunteer fire department has 22 firemen, five of which are ranking
officers. All firemen are paid on a per call basis. Watseka Fire Department
has two strategic fire stations. One of the stations, "Station
Two" is on North Jefferson (Rt.1). "Station One" is
at North Fifth and East Oak streets.
Considerable
improvements and modifications for the Enhanced "9.1.1."
will also be implemented into this project.
The
Watseka Fire Department is continuously improving and learning better
fire-fighting techniques. Watseka residents can be assured their Watseka
firemen will bring their fire-fighting knowledge, professionalism
and knowledge to each call.

"JAWS OF LIFE" - used to extricate a person trapped in a
vehicle.
"K-12" SAW - uses several types of "cutting" blades capable
of cutting anything from plastic pipe to hard steel.
SCOTT AIR PACKS - among the most vital pieces of equipment
a fire fighter uses, enables the fire fighter to go into a smoke-filled
area.
